When Joseph Eichler originally designed this mid-century modern California home, indoor-outdoor living and sliding patio doors were key design components. Architect Dennis Budd kept Eichler’s original vision but updated the home inside and out, including energy-efficient aluminum doors and windows. The Series 7650 Sliding Glass Door was a perfect fit for the modern style of the home, while meeting modern needs for building codes.

Going big with glass transforms this hallway from a thoroughfare to an oasis. Two massive aluminum sliding glass doors let light and lake views into the home, while providing easy access to the large patio deck outside. Using the Classic Line throughout the home allowed for clean lines and easy integration.

When this Bay Area home underwent a remodel, the design team opted to maintain the vertical scale of the home, while maximizing the use of glass across the western façade to take advantage of the San Francisco Bay views. Integrating large scale sliding glass doors with fixed windows allowed them to create a continuous horizontal line of glass across the wall while offering easy access to the second-floor deck through the patio doors.

No matter the season, this Indiana home is ready to let the outdoors in. Multiple bedrooms feature oversized patio doors leading to private patio areas. These aluminum-frame sliding glass doors provide easy access with thin frames and expanded glass. By scaling the Series 600 Sliding Glass Doors floor to ceiling, the outdoors becomes a part of the room.
